After a week long tour of DANH (Dadra and Nagar Haveli), now I am back to my work. I like to share the the "Khatti- Mithi" yaadein of this tour.
On 1st of October I left for Vapi on a passenger train from Bandra Terminus. From Vapi Rly. Station the capital town of DANH (i.e. Silvassa) is about 17 kms, and road transport is easily available there. While I was approaching to the office of JANSANSAR ( the newspaper in which my brother is working), I had saw tall awesome trees, the green grass mingling with the fields of darker green, and the distant hills. I bet, ypu all will love the beauty of this calm land. For the rest of the day, I slept a lot.
On 2nd October, I went to HIRWA VAN. It is in Paparia (on Silvassa Dadar Road). What a beautiful garden it was, with roaring waterfalls, spring lawns interspersed with island of flowers. The most distant thing that I found here was a flower called "THAL KAMAL". The flower changes its colur five times in a day.
In evening, I had went to Amli, where I had visited the famous "JHANDA Chowk" , the place where a group of freedom fighters lost their live while trying to host National Flag in front of Portuguese.
On 3rd October, I had went to Vanganga Lake in Dadra (about 5 kms from Silvassa). It's a beautiful lake garden, with wooden bridges, bed of flowers, jogging paths, huts , boats etc. Songs of about dozen of films have been picturised here.
On the last day of tour, (i.e on 4th October), I had went to Tribal Cultural Museum. All that I found there, simply give me a feel of this territory. The masks (from modern to traditional looks), Hunting tools, fishing gadgets, musical instruments (like turhi, etc. ) and the life size statues.
